• People will usually do a first glance at the middle of the screen avoiding the screen edges - they know unimportant info is there i.e. logo, nav bar.

• After that initial glance, people move in the normal reading pattern for their culture - left to right, right to left, etc. 

• However, if there is a large photo or something else that is eye catching you can break this typical pattern.

• Put the most important information in the top third or middle of the screen.
