  • are a scientific discipline whose main objective is to seek and know the relationships that human beings have with themselves and with nature. It involves a multidisciplinary study area covering different elements such as the study of environmental problems and the proposal of models for sustainable development
  • They are a branch of the sciences related to society and human behavior, which are studied both individually and collectively seeking to understand and explain particularities expressed by humans.
  • Scientific knowledge should be useful for articulating and supporting sustainable development goals through the scientific evaluation of the current and future environmental situation, with the results that have been obtained so far based on current innovations should be use the decision-making process in the processes of science integration and policy formulation in order to facilitate the integration of science and society in favor of the environment and thus have a global environmental sustainability that helps combat and / or minimize the ravages of society in the environment
  • study of the way in which people and society make use of the productive resources of the dispositions to produce diverse goods and distribute them for their present or future consumption, among the different people and groups that form the society.
  • Relationship with sustainability
  • A symbiosis relationship is established between human activity and the environment. In fact, for human activity to last for the long term, it needs the good state of the environment. Likewise, the environment needs human activity to be limited to a sustainable activity so that it does not destroy it, so both sides are strengthened by sustaining human activities.
  • In the topic of sustainable development, the assignment of value to ecosystem services is controversial. The economic science approaches it from two different perspectives: the traditional framework of neoclassical economy (environmental economics), and from an integral viewpoint where different sciences converge: ecological economics.. The importance of the economy for sustainability is direct, it is one of the dimensions that constitutes it and it is imminent when thinking about the importance of producing food, housing, education to be able to maintain a society
  • Taking into account the concept of social sciences, the relationship that exists with sustainability is that if we study, compare, reinforce the behavior of human beings regarding the work environment, with the results we could generate improvement plans for efficiency and effectiveness that allow economic stability and therefore sustainability to the country.
