- Install the IP Address Management (IPAM) server feature
- Install the IP Address Management (IPAM) client feature
- Open Server Manager on the server where the IPAM client was installed
- In the IPAM client, choose Provision the IPAM server: Configure Database
- In the IPAM client, choose Connect to the IPAM server
- Windows Internal Database (WID)
- In the IPAM client, choose Provision the IPAM server: Select provisioning method
- Execute Invoke-IpamGpoProvisioning cmdlet
- In the IPAM client, choose Configure server discovery: choose 'Get forests'
- In the IPAM client, choose Configure server discovery: Add the discovered domain
- In the IPAM client, choose Start server discovery
- In the IPAM client, choose Select or add servers to manage and verify IPAM access
- In the 'Select or add servers to manage and verify IPAM access' menu, right click the IPAM server and select Edit
- Execute a gpupdate /force on the servers that are managed by IPAM
- This will trigger discovery of DNS, DHCP, etc. servers
- In the Server type menu, check all boxes of the servers to manage, and set Manageability status to managed
- In the 'Select or add servers to manage and verify IPAM access' menu, right click the IPAM server and select Refresh Server Access Status
- A green checkmark should now appear
- In the 'Select or add servers to manage and verify IPAM access' menu, right click the IPAM server and select Retrieve All Server Data
