Syrian Conflict
- Problem
- Causes
- Lack of freedom and the economy in Syria. Islamist movements were also strongly
opposed to the Assads' rule. Some religious leaders outside Syria then called for a Sunni
uprising against the minorities The jailing on March 6, 2011 of some children who painted
anti-regime graffiti. Some were killed in detention, and this led to public protests which
spread around the country Bashar's father, Hafez al-Assad, attacked Muslim Brotherhood
in Hama, which killed 40,000 people. Minority religious groups tend to support the Assad
government, while the overwhelming majority of opposition fighters are Sunni Muslims.
- Consequences
- As a consequence most of the population, especially children and
teenagers suffer from “toxic stress” and are traumatized by the
constant bombing attacks. Because of the violence, children are
also skipping school since they are afraid of the violence and later
suffer from panic attacks worrying about their future and thinking
about the consequences of not attending school. The number of
suicides is increasing. Lots of people are dying.
- Instability has made it to the top in Syria. The Civil War that has
been going on for 6 years (2011) has led the people to look for
safe ways to educate the children or to help the country by
sacrificing their lives. In the last 2 years, the children have been
the greatest victims of this war, leaving them with extremely
unhealthy traumas and more dead bodies that they can and
should count. What is to be left of Syria will be up to the
government and the rebellious forces to decide.

- Possible solution
- Build an underground city so everyone is
protected from the bombs, no guns allowed. It
can be done by connecting the new tunnels and
chambers with the already existing
underground schools, applying electric light like
they do in mines and in with that also
protecting them from the scorching sun of the
middle east.
