  1. Newton's 1st Law
    1. An object in motion will stay in motion at a constant velocity unless acted upon by an unbalanced force
      1. AKA the law of inertia
        1. inertia is an object's resistance to change in motion
        2. or if at rest will stay at rest unless...
      2. Forces
        1. Normal Force
          1. the ground pushing up on you
          2. Gravitational Force
            1. The force made by the earth (or other planet) pulling you towards it
            2. Friction
              1. the force that occurs when 2 objects rub against each other
                1. negligible
              2. Newton's 2nd Law
                1. Fnet=ma
                  1. the sum of all forces = mass * acceleration
                    1. acceleration - m/s^2
                      1. mass - kilograms
                        1. Fnet - Newtons
                        2. USE THIS EQUATION FOR EVERYTHINGGGGG
                          1. example problem
                            1. A 5kg box is being pushed to the right 5N. Find the acceleration.
                              1. Fnet=ma
