PAST SIMPLE , REGULAR AND
IRREGULAR VERBS
- We use the past simple to speak about events that happened in the past and that are already FINISHED.
- The verbs can be
- REGULAR
- affirmative form
- we add -ed to the infinitive
- example:
catch
catched
- if the verb ends in "e" we only add -d
- example:
change
changed
- if the verb end in consonant and "y" we change it by an "i" and then add -ed
- example:
study
studied
- negative form
- we use DIDIN'T
and the infinitive
- example: didn't study
- interrogative (questions)
- we use DID at the
beginning and the
infinitive after the
subject

- short answers

- IRREGULAR

- there is a list of irregular past
forms. Some are different
form the infinitive, some
similar and some equal.
