Factors Influencing Human Development
- Socio-Economic
- Influences are from both
Primary & Secondary
socialisations
- Access to Health Services
- Someone who lives close to Health & Social
care and early years services will be able to
go a GP, hospital, dentist or other services
easily or when they need to, as they will not
have to think about Transport there and how
much it is going to cost them. which they are
more likely to become less likely to be prone
to getting ill because they will be going to the
doctors regularly.
- The person accessing the service may
not be able to speak English, which is
going to be spoken in all UK services
therefore there needs to be translators in
place so that the service user who can
not speak English feels comfortable that
they can go the Doctors before they
become poorly.
- Nutrition
- If someone income is a reasonable
amount each month, then fresh foods can
be purchased, which this will help someone
lead a healthy lifestyle with a well balanced
diet, which in the long run it will make the
individual less prone to illness.
- By individuals having knowledge
of nutrition this will influence the
way that they develop, for
example: someone with a diet
which is filled with food which are
high in rich fat and they do little
exercise then they will little
exercise the this can cause:
- An individual to be over weight.
- Have Mobility problems.
- Have heart conditions.
- Experience breathing problems.
- Lack of mental stimulation.
- Inherited Influences
- Genetic Influences are
inherited determinants
which are passed on to
children by their parents.
- Genes are found on long strands of
DNA called Chromosomes. Each
cell in the body has 23 pairs of
chromosomes, we inherit one set of
chromosomes from each parent.
- Genetic/Inherited influences
determine eye and hair colour, the
body type, height etc. However it
is not just the colour of your eyes
and hair which it helps determine ,
however it can also pass on the
gene which carries illness and
conditions such as breast cancer.
- Inherited Influences can affect many different
aspects of a persons life.
- Physically
- All conditions have an impact on an individuals physical
development however they not affect every life stage,
because conditions such as Huntington's may not occur
until you are mid way through adulthood.
- Other conditions such as Cystic Fibrosis and
Downs Syndrome can have a huge impact on
what they can do in life and especially with the
risks that they can take on.
- Haemophiliac condition cannot take any
risks, for example they can not take part
in any contact sport or activities which
carry a high risk of bruising
- Intellectually
- The impact on the intellectual development will vary,
