- To talk about something that is happening at the moment, now
- Examples
- I am paying attention to the teacher. I am
talking to my classmate.

- The use of words such as:
- at the moment, now, right now, today,
etc.
- I am studying English now.
- Grammar Structure:
- Simple Present: The most important thing to
remember about this tense is
- I, You, We, They
- Work
- But for 3rd person singular, we say
- He, She, It
- Works
- The verb BE
- I
- He, She, It
- They, We, You
- ARE
- IS
- AM
- Simple Present Negative
- For all verbs (except be), use:
- Doesn't
- don't
- Simple form or VERB
- Example: Sam takes classes at night
- Sam doesn't take classes at night.
- I have a lot of free time.
- I don't have a lot of free time
- Grammar Structure:
- Don’t forget that VERB BE is part of this structure.
- I AM
- You, We, They ARE
- He, She, It Is
- + verb ING
- Examples:
- They are celebrating their 40th
annicersary today.
- I am cleaning my house this week.
- Present Continuous (negative)
- For this tense, simply ADD the word NOT after the
verb BE.
- They are working today. They are
NOT working today.
- She is taking a Math class.
She is NOT taking a Math
class.
