Film Poster
Construction
- Whilst constructing my film poster, i had to complete many
stages of editing images, positioning the images correctly;
making sure they are not overcrowded, exploring different
layouts, merging backgrounds and lastly layer images to
perfectly represent my genre of police crime.
- To begin with i had to crop out all of the
backgrounds of my images i had taken, this is
because the background i originally took my
pictures in does not relate to my genre or
storyline.
- In order to not confuse the audience i have chosen
backgrounds that are shot in our trailer, example
the alleyways, main road, station and forest locations. Also
highlighted in my moodbaord and film promo
treatment. This was a great idea to complete as it
kept me on track and reminded me of our storyline
continuously including our settings we initially thought about.

- Youtube was a great help as it taught meow to
improve my editing skills on photoshop. For
instance this screenshot of the video i watched
was teaching me how to crop the background
without cropping out the fine hairs making it look
more realistic. This was because my female
modelled very fine blonde hair that often got in
the way while cropping with the magic wand. the
tool i often go for. Furthermore it taught me to
use the magnetic lasso tool as this tool isomer
intricate then any other cropping tool.

addition to brightening the image and
changing the contrast levels.

using the spot healing tool, the blur
tool, and the eraser. Completing this
on Photoshop was very helpful as not
only did i have experience using the
tools but also understood the
differences it can make to my film
poster. making it look more
professional.

beautified one of my models in order
to make her look more presentable
and professional. Here i used the
pen path tool and the paint brush
tool on a new layer every time,
giving my model nicely filled
eyebrows. In addition i also made
sure it look realistic, including
erasing excess hair using the eraser
tool.

- I also experimented with different
backgrounds , this is because whilst
conducting my research i have analysed that
all film posters should include some sort of
background. As this will represent the
storyline more showing where the trailer/
movie is set perhaps, making it easier for the audience to understand.

- I was also looking for
backgrounds that had included
someone standing in the
middle, taking these shots
where too hard to take as
the lighting would blend in
with the background.
- This kind of shot will give that mysterious
feeling to my film poster, rerepsenting the girl
that got raped in the forest, in addition the
back of the person could also represent the
rapist waiting for his victim.
- To make sure i have the correct background i
applied it to each image, making it look
presentable. to do this i lowered the opacity
of some images.

poster, representing the idea that
when the rape victim was pushed
to the floor, forcefully held against
the floor, the dirt prints on her
clothes and skin will leave a mark.
These prints that i have added her
was done using the eraser tool,
clicking the different formats
including the smudger, the crayon,
textured, etc.
