- "Poor in spirit" means to be humble

to realize

to the Word
of God which
allows you to
do the will of
God.
- Blessed are they who
mourn, for they will be
comforted.
- Mourning is called a blessing
because it creates in us a
desire to improve ourselves
and to do what is right.
- We mourn and
regret over sin.
- We mourn for the
suffering of others.
- Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the
earth.
- A person who is
gentle and kind
- A person who
exhibits
self-control
- Blessed are they who
hunger and thirst for
righteousness, for they
will be satisfied.
- A person who continuously desires for justice
and moral perfection will be led to a fulfillment
of that desire - a transition and conversion to
holiness.
- Attitudes that guide us in getting
along with others (Beatitudes 5-8)
- Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown
mercy.
- Forgiveness
towards one's
neighbor
- As we are
merciful to
others, God will
also be
merciful with
us.
- Blessed are the clean of heart,
for they will see God.
- Free of all
selfish
intentions and
self-seeking
desires - an act
of pure love
- Blessed are they who are
persecuted for the sake of
righteousness, for theirs is the
kingdom of heaven.
- Those who
suffer for
God's sake
- Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of
God.
- Must first have
peace within
before bringing
peace to others
- Preserve
peace
between God
and man
- Live
peaceful
lives
- Bring peace
and
friendship to
others
