Beauty Shots

2. Beauty shots were really common amount the videos we researched as the majority were performance based. We used the convention in our music video also.

Editing Style
1. The editing style for videos like ours varied with the pace of the song. For ours, a slow song, we looked at others similar and saw that using shots that lasted a long period of time and editing to the beat were common factors

Black and white
1. Our group did consider having the studio footage for the video in black and white as many examples we looked at did this. However we opted for the ‘colour’ version and got the artists to dress monochrome instead.

Studio Setting
1. Using a studio setting in an electronic/alternative music video seemed to be a necessity due to the large number of real examples doing so. We liked the pristine and stylised look that came with using a studio and so decided to do so in the NTLS video.
