Zusammenfassung der Ressource

Nanomaterials
  1. Fabrics made from NANOFIBRES
    1. Often made from carbon or synthetic polymers
      1. Very very thin & light
        1. Very strong
          1. Made into Non Woven sheets
            1. Potential applications: Lightweight bullet proof vests
            2. Fabrics made from regular fibres that have been modified using NANOTECHNOLOGY
              1. Existing fibres & fabric can be modified to give new properties
                1. Thin layers of nanoparticles can be attached to common fibres & fabrics.
                  1. Super thin & don't change the feel of the fabric
                    1. Nanoparticles can be used to coat fabrics that will then resist & break down dirt and stains
                    2. Currently used to create antibacterial fabrics using nanoparticles of silver
