Smooth muscle
- They are also called viseral muscles
- They are arranged in a longitudinal
and a circular form
- Ex: esophagus,
bronchioles, uterus
- Smooth muscle cells do not contain
sarcomere
- Also these cells
lack troponine
- In skeletical muscle, this were a juntion point
- They contain a lot of actine and little miosine
- Thin filaments are very long
- Miosine proteins stack
vertically
- Contraction
- It is caused by an increase in the
concentration of Ca2+
- phosporilation is very important to
unite the actine and carry on with
the contraction
- Depolarization in these mucle cells can be graduated
- Depolarization does not
produce action potentials
- Depolarization occurs from one cell to the other
- The more depolarization there is,
the stronger the contraction will be
- This is due to more calcium entering the cell
- Relaxation
- Ca2+ channels are closed
- Glamoduline is
separated from MLCK
- Energy pulse is
stopped by the
bridge
