- Victor describes his blissful childhood in Geneva
- Victor enters the university of Ingolstadt to study natural philosophy
and chemistry
- He is consumed by the desire to discover the secret of life
- PART 2 - THE MONSTER
- Victor spends months creating a monster out of dug up body parts
- One night, he brings his creation to life
- As soon as he sees the monster, he is horrified
- He runs out and finds his friend Henry who he brings back to his
apartment
- The monster has disappeared
- PART 3 - RUN AWAY
- Victor prepares to return to his family in Geneva
- Before leaving, he receives a letter from his dad telling him that his
youngest brother, William, has been murdered
- While passing through the woods where William was strangled, he sees the
monster
- He becomes convinced that it was the monster who murdered his brother
- PART 4 - GUILT
- Arriving in Geneva, Victor finds that Justine Moritz, a family friend, has
been accused of William's murder
- She is tried, found guilty of the crime and then executed
- Victor now feels very guilty, as two people have died because
of what he has done
- Hoping to ease his grief, Victor takes a vacation to the mountains
- PART 5 - A COMPANION
- One day whilst Victor is crossing a glacier alone, the monster
approaches him
- The monster admits to William's murder and begs Victor for forgiveness
- The monster begs Victor to create a soul mate for him
- Victor refuses at first, horrified by the prospect of creating a second monster
- However, eventually he agrees and heads for England with Henry
- PART 6 - HAUNTED
- Leving Henry in Scotland, Victor isolates himself on an island to
create the second monster
- One night, Victor looks out of the window to see the
monster looking at him with a terrifying grin
- Horrified, Victor quickly destroys his new creation
- The monster is furious and swears that he will be
with Victor on his wedding night
- PART 7 - BOAT TRIP
- Later on, Victor takes a boat out and dumps the
remains of the body in the sea
- The wind prevents him from returning to
shore and in the morning he finds himself
lost ashore
- Upon landing, he is arrested for
murder and is shocked when he finds
out it is Henry's murder
- When Victor sees Henry's body,
he notices the monster's
fingerprints on his neck
- PART 8 - THE WEDDING
- Victor returns to Geneva to marry his fiancee, Elizabeth and to be
cautious, he sends her away
- Whilst waiting for the monster, he hears Elizabeth scream and realises that the monster has killed her
- Victor returns to his father and shortly after, he dies of grief
- Victor decides to hunt the monster down and follows him northward to
the ice
- Victor almost catches the monster but the ice breaks between them and the monster
gets away
