- Individual (Male or female)
- 18 year olds
- Parents may help participant with preparing to leave home
- Newly formed relationships (friends, new relatives etc.)
- TIMING
- Begins on the individuals 18th birthday
- This is a normal time for individuals to begin thinking about leaving home
- Mentally and physically capable
- Takes place for one month
- Financially able to support themselves for a month
alone
- LOCATION
- Location chosen by individuals parents (location with relatives)
- Disconnected from all personal relationships
- Interacting with new people
- Stays in a apartment
- Can not talk to parents or friends,
disconnected from phones, internet etc.
- DRESS
- The individual may dress in normal clothing
- What they have brought with them
- Learn to think reasonably by what they chose to bring
- ACTION
- Sent away for one month
- Travels to destination by train/plane
- Prepare for trip with family
- Travelling takes place on their own
- LEARNING GOAL/CONCLUSION
- Teaches youth to be self reliant
- Independence
- Away from family/friends
- Learn how to form new relationships
