Zusammenfassung der Ressource
Glucose
- Light energy from sun is required to drive the reaction between carbon dioxide and water
- Builds up Glucose
- Sunlight is absorbed by the green chorophyll
- Found in structures of the cell called chloroplasts
- Chloroplasts are found in parts of the plant exposed to sunlight
- Converted to chemicals needed for the plants growth
- e.g. cellulose, protein, chlorophyll
- Converted into starch for storage
- used in respiration to release energy
- Glucose from photosynthesis and nitrates taken up by plants roots are used to synthesise amino acids - assembled into proteins
- Oxygen is produced as a waste of photosynthesis
