HURRICANE NAMES

Hurricanes ciulo't use to have names.forecasting hurricanes was only back ping to emerge in the late 1940's.Only the most severe.
it was usually the place they did the movie damage or the time they hit(such as the labor day hurricane of 1935
During world war. us meteorologist working in the pacific ocean began naming tropical cyclones because they were ortan tracking many storms at the same time.
1. it was quicker to name them than to refer to each one by its specific location.
2. the first US unoffcial named huirricane was George, which hit in 1947.then nect one given a name was named after the first lady of the USA Bess Truman, in 1949
Meteorologists used different coneventions, buit in 1953, it is not clear whi, they were name after women in alphabetical order.
