- Air Pollution is the presence in or introduction into the air of a substance which has harmful or poisonous effects.
- Role as a Student
- Instead using a car and asking my parents to drive me to the store or to the par , I can either ride a bicycle or
walk as they do not emit harmful fumes.
- I can also hold various campaigns like an art competition so that other people will also be careful of
our doings
- If anybody in my family smokes i can advice to stop smoking as this harms them and the environment.
- Prevention Measures
- Buy green electricity which produces low or zero pollution
- Report air polluting vehicles to your local air agency.
- Connect your outdoor lights with a timer or use solar lights to conserve energy in case you forget to
turn them off.
- Use low Voc Or water based paints and paint strippers.
- Make sure your house has no radioactive gases.
- Causes
- We cause air pollution directly through our use of electricity, fuels, and transportation.

- Emissions from industries and
manufacturing activities
- We also cause air pollution indirectly when we get goods and services using energy in their production and their delivery.
- Effects
- Global warming: Another direct effect is the immediate alterations that the world is witnessing due to
Global warming
- Toxic chemicals present in the air can force wildlife species to move to new place and change their habitat.
- Acid Rain: Harmful gases like nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides are released into the atmosphere during the burning of fossil fuel
- Respiratory and heart problems: The effects of Air pollution are alarming. They are known to create
several respiratory and heart conditions along with Cancer, among other threats to the body.
