Egyptians knowledge on medicine and the body
  1. The Egyptians wrote their knowledge in a Papyrus, these show that they had good knowledge of bone structure, and understanding on the pulse, liver, the brain and breathing.

    Anmerkungen:

    • Woah!
    1. They developed a theory that the heart was the centre of the body with 46 tubes (channeles) yet they did not realise that each of these types of channel such as veins, intestines and lungs all stood for different purposes.
      1. The Egyptians believed that life was controlled by the gods. They believed in spirits as well so when the irrigation channels on farms become blocked, they thought that the channels in the body where being blocked by the spirit Wehedu and causing illness.
        1. This theory led to positive developments in medicine as it encouraged doctors to try and cure problems less spiritually and more physically such as bleeding, to unblock the channels.
        2. Despite these seeming leaps and bounds, they did get a lot of things wrong and lots of things were improved by chance.
          1. They washed them selves regularly and kept clean not due to purposeful staying healthy ,as they did not know about germs, but by chance they stayed healthier
