Static and Dynamic Information
- Static
- Information that shows
little or no change.
- Example: Census, the information will not
change until the next census is conducted.
- Advantages: Usually checked for accuracy so often more reliable
than dynamic sources, can be used without access to the internet.
- Disadvantages: If held on a CD the information can get lost or damaged,
if a mistake is found then the whole thing needs to be made again.
- Dynamic
- Information that is continuously being changed.
- Example: A website that is updated on a regular basis.
- Advantages: Can be updated quickly and easy, a
large number of people can access it at one time.
- Disadvantages: Changes can be made quickly so mistakes can
go unnoticed, information may be biased or completely wrong.
