- Multiplying and Dividing Numbers w/ Intergers
- Multiply - You have to plus the integers
together, DO NOT times them, that's
for brackets.
- 3 to the power of 2 x 3 to the power of 3
= 3 to the power of 2+3 = 3 to the power
of 5 = 243
- 3 to the power of 2 x 3 to the power of 3
= 3 to the power of 2+3 = 3 to the power
of 5 = 243
- Divide - You have to subtract
the integers, then you figure
it out
- 3 to the power of 3 / 3 to the power of 2
= 3 to the power of 2 - 1 = 3 to the power
of 1 = 3
- 3 to the power of 3 / 3 to the power of 2
= 3 to the power of 2 - 1 = 3 to the power
of 1 = 3
- Anything to the power of 0 is 1
- If you have a negative number but the power
is even, it equals a positive number (take out
the doubles)
- If you have negative number without brackets but
the power is odd, it equals a negative number
- If you have negative number without brackets but
the power is odd, it equals a negative number

- Adding and Subtracting Numbers w/ Integers
- Adding - Figure out the numbers, then add them together.
- 3 to the power of 2 + 4 to the power of 2
= (3 x 3) + (4 x 4) = 9 + 16 = 25
- 3 to the power of 2 + 4 to the power of 2
= (3 x 3) + (4 x 4) = 9 + 16 = 25
- Subtracting - Figure out the numbers, then
subtract the first second number from
the first number
- 4 to the power of 2 - 3 to the power of 2
= (4 x 4) - (3 x 3) = 16 - 9 = 7
- 4 to the power of 2 - 3 to the power of 2
= (4 x 4) - (3 x 3) = 16 - 9 = 7
- Adding - Figure out the numbers, then add them together.
- Integers with Fractions
- If you have a fraction with no brackets but next to the numerator,
denominator or both you have a ingterger, you figure out the number
and if the denominator turns out bigger than the numerator, turn it
into a mixed number
- If you have brackets and the integer if next to the
brackets, it occurs to both the denominator and
numerator, you just figure both of them out
- If you have brackets and a integer outside the
brackets and also next to the numerator or
denominator, you times both integers together
and then work out the final answer
- If you have a denominator that is negative you can switch
it by multiplying it by -1
- If you have a fraction with no brackets but next to the numerator,
denominator or both you have a ingterger, you figure out the number
and if the denominator turns out bigger than the numerator, turn it
into a mixed number
- Integers with Decimals
- If you have a decimal with a integer, you simply figure out normally
- If used in dividing or multiplacation, you times by ten and
figure it out using multiplacation, or long division
- If you have a decimal with a integer, you simply figure out normally
- Adding and Subtracting w/ Negative Numbers
- If you have the same sign (- and - or + and +) it equals a positive number
- If you have different signs ( - and + ) it equals a negative number
- If you have the same sign (- and - or + and +) it equals a positive number
