1. creation
1. In the beginning God created the heavens and earth
  1. God created Earth in 7 days
    1. He created the heavens and the earth, the sky, dry lands, stars and planets, sea, air and land animals and finally man
      1. He created a Man (Adam) and Woman (Eve) in his own image
        While creating he said everything was good except loneliness he said was bad
        On the 7th day he rested
2. the fall
1. God told Adam and Eve that they could eat from any plant in the Garden of Eden except from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil
  1. The serpent came up to eve and told Eve to eat from the tree
    1. Eve eats from the tree and convinces Adam to as well.
      1. When God found out he punished Adam and Eve and they could no longer live in the Garden.
        This is when sin and death entered the world and we became separated from God.
3. Noah
1. People have moved away from God
  1. God chooses to spare Noah and his family (8 people)
    1. Noah builds an Arc and 2 of each animal gets on the Arc.
      1. The flood lasts for 40 days and 40 nights
        Noah releases a dove 3 times. The first time it comes back. The next time it comes back with an olive leaf. The last time he sent out the dove it did not return
        Noah and his family get off the Arc and begin to build the tower of Babe;
5. Jacob/Isreal
1. Second born. Son of Isaac and Rebekah (was her favorite)
  1. Tricks his brother Esau into giving him his Birthright and blessing. His mother helps him escape to his uncle Laban's.
    1. Dreams about a ladder/staircase going to heaven with angels ascending and descending it
      1. Jacob works for 14 years for Laban and marries Leah and Rachel
        Jacob has 12 sons 6 to Leah 2 to her servant 2 to Rachel and 2 to her servant
        God changes Jacobs name to Israel and re-confirms the covenant He made with Abraham but this time with Jacob.
6. Joseph
1. Joseph was the second youngest of Jacobs sons and his mother was Rachel. He was Jacob's favorite child.
  1. His brothers were jealous so they decided they would kill him, but instead they sold him into slavery.
    1. He works for Potiphar until Potiphar's wife accuses him of trying to sleep with her
      1. While in jail he interprets the dreams of a cupbearer and a baker and what he says come true
        The Pharaoh asks him to interpret dreams for him and they come true so the Pharaoh allows Joseph to be his second
        Joseph's brothers come for food during the famine. Joseph reveals himself after testing them and weeps
7. Moses
1. Moses was born and hidden for 3 month after that his mother put him in a basket on the river. He was found and taken in by the Pharaoh's daughter.
  1. One day Moses saw a Egyptian beating a Hebrew. He killed the Egyptian and the Pharaoh wanted to kill him. Moses Fled to Midian.
    1. God appears to Moses in the form of a burning bush. He convinces Moses to go back and deliver the Israelites from the Egyptians.
      1. To convince the King to let the Israelites go Moses causes 10 plague on the Egyptians. 1) water to blood 2) frogs 3) gnats 4) flies 5) live stock killed 6) boils 7) hail 8) locusts 9) darkness 10) death of the first born
        The Israelites and they get trapped at the Red Sea and the Egyptians are after them. The Lord works through Moses and Parts the Red Sea for the Israelites.
        While in the wilderness God provides Quail, Manna, water from a rock and He helps them defeat the Amalek
8. Mt. Sinai
1. The Israelites arrive at Mount Sinai and consecrate.
  1. Moses was on the mountain getting the 10 commandments for 40 days and 40 nights
    1. In fear that Moses was taking too long the Israelites decided to make a golden calf and worship it
      1. God is angered and wants to destroy His people, but Moses convinces Him to spare them.
        When Moses gets down the mountain and sees the Israelites worshiping the calf he is so angered he destroys the tablets
        After Moses got the tablets a second time he returned from the mountain with his face shining and everyone was afraid at first. First he talked to the leaders and then all the Israelites felt comfortable approaching him
4. Abraham
1. Original name was Abram and he married Sarai. Sarai was barren.
  1. Sarai gave her servant Hagar to sleep with Abram and she had a son named Ismael.
    1. The Lord appeared to Abram. He promises Abram to be the ancestor of many nations. He then changes Abram's name to Abraham and Sarai's name to Sarah.
      1. 3 angels come to Abraham and tells him he will have a son and Sarah hears and laughs.
        Isaac is their son. God tells Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, so Abraham does as he is told and goes to sacrifice. The Lord then provides a ram and Isaac is not sacrificed
        He was 175 when he died and he was buried by his 2 sons in the cave Machpelah
