4. rows of small terraced houses dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

    1. second-generation migrants and even asylum seekers, but core population is made up of white Newcastle people
5. good transport in and around the city e.g. bus services
Jesmond Ward
1. Built to house managers and owners of factories during the industrial revolution, the richer people were able to afford larger houses.
  1. with large gardens and room for several servants
2. lower middle classes had smaller houses which were terraces with upstairs and downstairs flats. doors were side by side but each flat was seperate
3. loft conversions meant the house had more room and space
