Red Cloud's War (1867)
- Sioux attacked travellers on the Bozeman Trail.
- Red Cloud forced withdrawel of army.
- Destroyed forts on the trail.
- Captain Fetterman and about 100
soldiers were killed by the Sioux.
- The second Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868 gave the Indians a smaller reservation called the Great Sioux Reservation which included the Bighorn
Mountains and the Black Hills of Dakota, areas which were sacred to the Sioux.
- The White's
were not
allowed to enter
theses lands.
