    1. Computers are very good at processing data
      1. Barcodes are read by a laser which is in a barcode reader.
      2. Cheaper to operate.
        1. Disadvantages; Need bar code scanners to read
          1. Can get damaged.
            1. Has to be manually scanned all the time
          2. Its a very fast way of entering numerical data
            1. Or data into a computer
