Radicals Daily Task
- Factors
- Factors are the numbers that are multiplied together that add up to the product.
- Divisors
- Divisors are the numbers you use to divide something.
- Factor numeric values into lowest terms.
- What times what gives you that number.
- Prime number- and number that can only be divided by 1 and itself.
- Factor Tree- a long list of numbers that multiply into each other. For example: 18 into 3 and 6 then 3
is prime so you leave it the same, then 6 into 3 and 2, more prime numbers. Your answer would be
3^2 times 2.
- Simplify Radical Expressions: Write your problem, then you will make a factor tree. When you get
each number to be a prime number then you need to find two of the same number, place that
number on the outside of your radical. Then multiply the numbers of each side. Now you have you
answer.
- GCF- Greatest Common Factor- The greatest number that you can multiply to get both
products.
- Add and subtract Radical Expressions: Take the expressions and combined like terms. For example
5√7 - 3√7 . This equals 2√7
- Multiplying Radical Expressions:Take your two expressions and multiply like terms. Then combined
like terms. Then do the same thing as you did for simplifying radicals. For example 5√6 + 3√6. This
equals 15√36 Which equals 90. Another example is 1√2 + 2√3 this equals 2√6.
