1. Find out that Jacob Marley died on Christmas eve 7 years ago
  1. comes back as a ghost to tell scrooge to live a better life
2. small fire in office shows scrooge is tight with money
3. scrooge's nephew invites him for Christmas but he turns him down because he's miserable
stave two
1. ghost of christmas past
  1. school
    1. "A solitary oyster"
  2. his old work with his old boss Mr Fezziwig
  3. the ghost lets him see how happy he once was and showed him the woman he loved.
    1. scrooge sees an image of his ex and her husband with their child, he's frustrated because this could have been him.
stave three
1. ghost of christmas present
  1. go to bob crachit's house to see how happy his family is even tho they dont have much money.
  2. shows him Fred's christmas
  3. shows scrooge a miner family, 2 lighthouse keepers and a ship of sailors; they arent wealthy in money but they are wealthy in love and happiness
    1. ghost is trying to show scrooge how happy everyone is and that he should be the same.
stave four
1. ghost of christmas future
  1. scrooge sees a group of business men talking about the death of a very unpopular man
  2. in another part of London scrooge sees people buying things which people have stolen from the dead mans house.
2. then hes taken to a scene to see Crachit's family who are grieving over their son, Tiny Tim, who has died
3. scrooge is taken to the man's grave stone to find that scrooge is the man who is dead
4. hes scared and begs the ghost to make it stop
stave five
1. scrooge gives a boy money to go buy a turkey so scrooge can share it with everyone
2. scrooge enjoys the party at Fred's house
3. he tells bob he is going to raise his salary
4. he becomes a second father to scrooge
5. scrooge changes his entire life and becomes happy
