favourites seemed to be
doing rather well out of
his generosity:
- Duke of Somerset
- Duke of Suffolk
- These royal faves were
hated + resented, were
known as the king's 'evil
councillors'
- People demanded their removal
- People were more willing to join an opposition
group if it could be shown that the aim was not
attack the king, but simply remove those who
could damage both him + the country
