- insidious (gradual) onset
- etiology: aging in peoples >50 years
- SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
- early signs:
- increase IOP, blurred vision
- late signs:
- - peripheral vision loss
- appearance of halos
- 2nd leading cause of blindness
- Diagnostic Tests
- Tonometer: to measure IOP
- RISK FACTORS:
- family history of glaucoma,
family history of diabetes,
previous vision problems,
medication use
