3. North Schleswig was given to Denmark after a plebiscite
4. West Prussia, Posen and parts of Upper Silesia were given to Poland
5. Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania became independent states
6. Anschluss was forbidden
7. The German colonies became mandates and were controlled by Britain and France
