sustainable destination by making the beaches clean to get a

encouraged the spanish culture by the Government, old
hotels have been demolished and also V.A.T has reduced to
6% meaning cheaper holidays for tourists.
- HONEYPOT SITE
- A honeypot site is an area that attracts many people to one
location of interest, scenery or history. Lots of people gather
in this area and the rest of the surrounding area gets left
alone. The area grows in development with toilets, car parks,

can lead to damage in a small concentrated area.

- ECOTOURISM:
***TATAQUARA LODGE***
- Located on the River
Xingu in the Amazon
Rainforest, Brazil.
- Economic
- -Built from local materials that were
found on the forrest floor (naturally fallen
trees, sticks, straw etc) rather than import
wood or concrete.
- -Creates jobs for local people.
- -Indirect income sources created for people
who make arts and crafts to sell to tourists.
- Environmental
- -The materials were not transported
by a vehicle that emits CO2.
- -The materials are not the product of
deforestation which prevents absorption of
CO2 as well as destroying animals' habitats.
- -Solar power is used as an electricity source for
the lodge, so this is renewable energy that does
not emit so much CO2 as burning coal or wood.
- The food served in the lodge is local
produce which means vehicles that emit
CO2 have not had to transport it a long way.
- Social
- -Ecotourism helps with community projects
like building schools and water pumps.
- -People have more stable incomes than with other jobs like farming.
- Ecotourism is a
sustainable form of
tourism. It tries not to
damage the local
environment, culture and
customs. It aims to give
people jobs whilst
protecting the
environment. It improves
peoples quality of life
without damaging the
culture. Ecotourists travel
in small groups and often
visit reserves where the
scenery and wildlife is
protected and managed.
