studio magic
- concave
- concave lenses are for the long-sighted
- the lense makes the rays come further apart
- it enlarges the image so it hits the eye ball at the right time
- the lense is fat in the middle like a cave
- convex
- it makes the rays become closer
- it is thin in the midddle
- convex lenses are for the short-sighted
- it shrinks the image so it hits the eye in the right place
- ear
- 1) ear canal - passes on the vibration into the eardrum
- 2) ear drum - starts to beat and passes the vibration to the ossicles
- 3) ossicles - pass the vibration onto the liquid in the cochlea
- 4) cochlea - change the vibration into electrical impulses and passes it onto the auditory nerve
- 5) auditory nerve - sends the signal to the brain
- eye
- iris- coloured part, made of muscle controls the amount of light going into the eye
- retina- contains cells which are light seneitive
- cornea- it refracts light
- optic nerve- focuses light onto the retina
- pupil- made smaller or bigger by the iris
- long-sighted
- the image is too big for them
- if someone is long-sighted their eyeball is too small
- they would have concave lenses
- the image is being focused behind the retina
- short-sighted
- if someone is short-sighted their eyeball is too long
- the image is being focused in front of the retina
- the image is too small for them
- they would have convex lenses
- oscilloscope graph
- amplitude- shows how loud the sound is
- time period - if the lines are close, the sound is high
- crest - the wave (semi-circle) at the top of the wave
- trough - the empty space between the waves
