- The final years of his reign
witnessed Henry VIII's physical
decline and an increasing desire to
appear all-powerful. Henry
continued with fruitless and
expensive campaigns against
Scotland and France.

- When Henry VIII died on 28 January
1547, he was buried next to Jane
Seymour in St. George's Chapel at
Windsor Castle. (The one who gave
birth to Edward VI ).

- Henry VIII was a great athlete in his youth.
Henry threw the javelin and enjoyed
hunting, archery, jousting antennas. He
also could speak French, Spanish, Latin,
and some Italian and was a good musician.
Henry played the lute and harpsichord
well and could sing from sight.

- Henry passed a law in 1534 making himself
head of the Church of England. So it allowed
him to divorce his wife and led to the
formation of the protestant Church of
England.
- After Henry died his son Edward became the next king. He
was never healthy king and died aged only 15 years!

- Henry VIII was handsome in his youth, but became bloated and fat (he had 54-inch waist when he
was 50).
