Understanding Physical Change

- THE PARTICLE MODEL
- Physical changes can be
understood by using the
particle model.
- Solids are incrompessible
& hold their shape.
- Liquids are
incompressible & flow to
take the shape of their
container.
- LIQUIDS
- In liquids, the particles are tightyl packed together
and that makes lliquids incompressible.
- The particles have a bot of space apart .
- This gives liquid the ability to flow and take the shape of their container.
- Gases are compressible & fill their
entire container.
- SOLIDS
- In solids, the attraction between
particles binds them tightly together.
- For this reason solids are
incompressible and hold their
shape
- The vibration increases
when the solid is
heated(melting).
