    • A picture book is a book in which the illustyrations are as important as the words in telling the story.
    1. Wordless Picture Books

      Anmerkungen:

      • Wordless picture books are picture books that tell the story completely through illustrations with no words at all, or only a few embedded in the artwork.

      2. TRADITIONAL LITERATURE

        Anmerkungen:

        • Traditional Literature are stories that are passed down from generation to generation, changing slowly over time and providing a link between the past and the future. They are also known as "Folktales," beliefs or stories with exaggerated characters and obstacles.
        1. Tall Tales

          Anmerkungen:

          • A folktale that is often humorous and assumed to be untrue. It presents larger than life characters.
          1. Fairy Tales

            Anmerkungen:

            • A fictional story about fairies or other magical creatures and often has a prince or a princess and a happy ending.
            1. Fables

              Anmerkungen:

              • A short folktale that has a moral or lesson and usually has animal characters.
              1. Legends

                Anmerkungen:

                • A folktale that is based on a real person or event but cannot be proven.
                1. Myths

                  Anmerkungen:

                  • A fictional story that explains how things naturally occur in the world and often include gods, godesses and mythological creatures.
                2. FICTION BOOKS

                  Anmerkungen:

                  • Fiction uses characters, setting, and plot to convey events that are not real.
                  1. Historical Fiction

                    Anmerkungen:

                    • A fictional story with real and made-up characters that takes place during an actual time in history.
                    1. Realistic Fiction

                      Anmerkungen:

                      • A story set in the present and involving events that could actually happen.
                      1. Science Fiction

                        Anmerkungen:

                        • A sory that is often set in the future or in different worlds that includes tecnology or science.
                        1. Mystery Books

                          Anmerkungen:

                          • A fictional story that revolves around discovering secrets or solving crimes.
                          1. Fantasy

                            Anmerkungen:

                            • A fictional story that uses magical snd other supranatural phenomena as primary element of plot, theme, or setting. Usually, stories take place in imaginary worlds and characters are un-usual.
                          2. NON-FICTION BOOKS

                            Anmerkungen:

                            • Factual writing that informs a reader about a topic, also known as informational books. Nonfiction uses real people, setting, and plot to convery actual events.
                            1. Biography Books

                              Anmerkungen:

                              • Nonfiction writing that is about a real person.
                              1. Biography

                                Anmerkungen:

                                • A story about a real person's life written by another person.
                                1. Autobiography

                                  Anmerkungen:

                                  • A story about a real person's life written by that same person.
                                2. Topic Books

                                  Anmerkungen:

                                  • These texts arte written to provide information about a variety of topics: animals, science, sports, places, etc.
                                3. COMIC BOOKS

                                  Anmerkungen:

                                  • A sequence of cartoon drawings telling a story in a newspaper or comic book. They can be either wordless, add simple onomatopoeias, or even present dialogues in the form of speech bubbles among characters.
                                  1. POETRY BOOKS

                                    Anmerkungen:

                                    • Poetry uses sound, rhythm, and word choice to convey ideas, emotions or thoughts. I would also include in this cathegory any kind of linguistic stilystic device to present emotional information such as: haikus, limericks, tongue twisters, riddles and even songs and nursery rhymes.
                                    1. DRAMA BOOKS

                                      Anmerkungen:

                                      • Drama uses characters, dialogue, and action to tell a story through conflict and emotions. Drama stories are designed to be acted out. It is possible to use adaptations from the classics such the "Shakeaspeare Can Be Fun" series or work on regular children's book to promote dramatic play.
