ROYAL DECREE 126/2014 28th February in which it is developed the basic Curriculum of the different subjects for the Primary Stage. 7th. Objectives for the Primary Stage. Primary Stage will contribute to develop in students the capacities that allow them to: a) Know and appreciate the values and rules of coexistence, learn how to act according to them, get ready for the active practice of citizenship and respect human rights, as well of the pluralism of a democratic society. b) Develop individual and team working habits, of effort and responsibility in studying, as well as self-confidence attitudes, critical sense, personal initiative, curiosity, interest and creativity in learning and entrepeneurial spirit. c) Acquire abilities for the prevention and peaceful resolution of conflicts, which allow them to act autonomously at home, as well as among the social groups with which they interact. d) Know, understand and respect the different cultures and the differences between people, the equal rights and opportunities of men and women and the non-discrimination of people with disabilities. e) Know and use properly the Spanish language and, if it existed, the co-official language of the Autonomous Community and develop reading habits. f) Acquire the basic communicative competence at least in one foreign language, which allows them to express and understand easy messages and to manage in daily situations. g) Develop the basic mathematical competences and get introduced in the solving of problems which require elementary calculations, geometrical knowledge and estimations, as well as be able to apply them in daily life situations. h) Know the fundamental aspects of Natural Science, Social Sciences, Geography, History and Culture. i) Introduce themselves in the educational use of the ICT developing a critical spirit towards the messages that they get and produce. j) Use different artistic representations and expressions and get started in the construction of visual and audiovisual proposals. k) Value health and hygiene, accept their own and others’ bodies, respect differences and use physical education and sport as means to promote their personal and social development. l) Know and value the animals that are closer to the human being and adopt ways of acting which promote their caring. m) Develop their affective capacities in all the fields of personality and in their relation with others, as well as adopt and attitude against violence, prejudices and sexist stereotypes. n) Promote road safety education and respect attitudes that promote the prevention of traffic accidents.
