Kc The contact process: 2SO2(g) + O2(g) ---> SO3(g) The haber process: N2(g) + 3H2(g) ---> 2NH3(g) Reaction in cars which can cause acid rain: N2(g) + O2(g) ---> 2NO2 (g) If the value of Kc is greater than 1, equilibrium lies to the right. If the value of Kc is less than 1, equilibrium lies to the left. Homogeneous vs heterogeneous equilibria Homogeneous = All species are in the same phase/state in the reversible reaction. Heterogeneous = Species are in different phases/states in the reversible reaction. In heterogeneous equilibria, solids and liquids are omitted from the reaction as they are more dense than gases.  ICE Tables These are used to calculate the concentration of a substance at equilibrium. This requires the initial value and the change to work out the equilibrium value for the concentration.
