Here are some definitions for responding to media videos. Setting: Where the book/movie takes place. Protagonist: The main character, usually the good person in the story. Antagonist: The person that acts against the protagonist, the antagonist can also be the protagonist. Conflict: The problem the protagonist is trying to solve. Person vs.: Self, Society, Nature, Person. Climactic Point of a Story: The part where you can't stop watching/reading. Resolution: How the problem gets solved. Effective Element: Special effects used to create meaning or significance. Theme: The lesson you need to learn. Personal Connection: How the reader identifies the theme of the story.

The Present: Setting: His house Protagonist: Boy, missing part of his leg Antagonist: Boy, missing part of his leg Conflict: Person vs. Self Resolution: He has a missing leg too Climax: When we see his missing leg Effective Elements: Barking, gameplay Title, Producer, Year: The Present, Anna Matacz, 2014 Theme: Things aren't always the same, you can have more relation than you realize.
Soar: Setting: Outside Protagonist: Girl, big glasses Antagonist: Girl, big glasses Conflict: Person vs. Self Resolution: Gets small boy into the air so he can put up his star Title, Producer, Year: Soar, Climax: Can the girl get the boy into the air Effective Elements: Sad music, happy music, wind Theme: Sacrifice. Giving of one's self to help to help others.
God is a DJ: Setting: Town square Protagonist: God/DJ Antagonist: God/DJ Conflict: Person vs. Self Resolution: DJ fixes everything in the town square, but he ran away as fast as he could Title, Producer, Year: SPIN, Jamin Winans, 2005, Double Edge Films Climax: If the DJ can fix everything wrong after the explosion Effective Effect: Bright lights, BIG bang sound, DJ records playing, pepper spray Theme: God fixes everything wrong. Deprives the people of free will. Runs away in the end. God always stays with us. Lets us have free will. We don't turn back time, but make the most out of our day.
