Hubs A hub works in half duplex. All ports share the same loop, and all traffic must wait for the active transmission to complete before sending any data. Switches A switch works in full duplex. All traffic is sent through dedicated channels, and the switch can handle traffic on all ports simultaneously, both TX and RX.
