Known as flow or continuous production.Assembly lines.Very large quantities (1000's)

Note

High cost per item due to skilled labour costs. Low fixed costs. Skilled workforce. Specialist markets. Flexible.

Note

Cheaper cost per item than job due to increased quantity. Semi-skilled workforce. Increased use of templates, jigs, fixtures to reduce production time. Still reasonably flexible.

Note

Cheaper again due to increased quantity. Expensive to set up due to increased automation. Less skilled workforce. Inflexible due to specialist production lines.
