Grade 9 science. Imagine that your teacher brings to class a meteorite that is about the size of a grapefruit. Meteorites are pieces of rocky space debris that hit Earth. Your teacher asks you to study and describe the meteorite’s surface. With your unaided eye, you would be able to see many of the object’s characteristics, such as its colour, lustre, and texture. With a magnifying glass, you would see even more detail, perhaps the colour and shape of the surface particles.
