You can rename records to standard NetSuite record types and reuse the same name for multiple record types. For example, renaming Customer to Partner or renaming two different record types as Client.
When you change the names of records or transactions, those names DO DONT( DO, DONT ) change in most places they appear in NetSuite to your preferred term.
You can always return to the Rename Records/Transactions page to change them to the default name or to another term.
If you search for the name of a record or transaction that you have renamed then the search results include an option to use the default transaction or record name search term?
If you do not rename records and transactions with a language set as the 'Language' preference, users in your account will continue to see the original Record/Transaction names when they set that language as their preference.
Name changes ARE ARE NOT( ARE, ARE NOT ) applied to standard NetSuite element names (standard records, transactions, and page names), BUT NOT AND ALSO( BUT NOT, AND ALSO ) to elements you have customized. (E.g custom center tabs with the same names)
To change the name of transactions/records, you need to go to: Setup Customization( Setup, Customization ) > Company Accounting Sales( Company, Accounting, Sales ) > Setup Tasks General Preferences Accounting Preferences( Setup Tasks, General Preferences, Accounting Preferences ) > Rename Records/Transactions.
