Schoolchildren from Finland (Финляндия) and South Korea (Южная Корея) get the highest in international tests. What is school like in South Korea? Schoolchildren in middle school have a long school day that about 8 hours - from 8 a. m. to 4 p.m. Then, they usually have extra lessons that they take to prepare for tests. There are a lot of tests in a Korean school! In addition, schoolchildren have a lot of homework to do every night.
Korean children and teachers have to a lot of rules. Everybody has to change their shoes (school slippers) when they come to school. Teachers wear a uniform, but they have to wear nice clothes to look professional. Every five years all teachers and head teachers change schools and work at a new school.
Children have to be and work hard to get good marks. They get very tired, but they have no choice if they want to be good at studies.
