Why do we use queries? Wouldn't it be easier for the Client to send & receive files?

  • We think so, but our Client is a huge corporation, and it's hard to tell them the tool they have created for us is worse than our own.

  • It would be easier for us, but not for the Client. For them it's better that we have access to all those and only those resources they want us to modify.

  • It's a matter of TMs. Translation Memory and iMT are applied on the Client's side, and they don't want us to keep our own.

What is a Vendor Context Query (VCQ)? How do you use it?

Strings are color-coded in LEAF for easier recognition of their origin. While there are some rare exceptions (usually due to errors in LEAF), generally the meaning of particular colors is as follows:
