Which one of these is a 3-dimensional geometric shape?
What is volume?
A measure of how much matter is in an object
the measure of the amount of space inside of a solid figure
a fixed point of reference for the geometry of the surrounding space
x represents multiplication in this equation Equation for volume: V = l x w x h What do each of the letters represent in the picture?
V= l x w x h when I plug in the numbers to the equation it would look like this V= 12 cm x 4 cm x 6 cm
When you multiply 12 cm x 4 cm x 6 cm you only multiply the numbers not the units
If I know that V = l x w x h than I can say that V = 4 cm x 3 cm x 12 cm which means V = 144 cm cubed
If l know length x width = a rectangles area 3 cm x 4 cm = 12 cm squared From looking at the picture I can see that the product of 3 cm and 4 cm are the base of the rectangular prism If I multiply the new product 12 cm squared by the height of the rectangular prism which is 12 cm then I will come get 144 cm cubed. Does this mean that (b= base)
