BIDMAS is used to determine which order the calculation should be done

When multiplying by a multiple of 10 (e.g. 10, 100, 100 etc...) you move the decimal point to the left by how many zeros there are

When dividing by a multiple of 10 (e.g. 10, 100, 1000 etc...) you move the decimal to the left by how many zeros there are

When you multiply decimal numbers you follow these steps:
1) Ignore the ( decimals, number )
2) ( Add, Divide, Multiply, Subtract ) the numbers as normal
3) Your answer must have the same number of ( digits, decimal places ) as the original question

To divide a decimal number by an integer you just divide using bus stop method.
No other steps need to be taken.

To divide a number by a decimal you do the following:
1) ( Add, Remove ) the decimal places by multiplying by a multiple of 10 (e.g. 10, 100, 1000 etc...)
2) Make sure you ( divide, multiply ) both numbers by ( the same, different ) multiple of 10
3) Divide as usual

To find the prime factorisation of a number you do the following:

To find the LCM of a set of numbers you follow these steps:
1) Find the product of primes for each number
2) Add all of the prime numbers together

To find the HCF of each number you do the following:
1) Find the prime factorisation of each number

To do calculation involving mixed number, you must turn the mixed numbers into improper fractions first

To multiply fractions, you multiply the top number and divide the bottom numbers

You never cancel down fractions

To divide fraction you:
1) flip the second fraction
2) multiply the two fractions

To add or subtract fractions, you add the top numbers and then the bottom numbers

To take 3/5 of a number you do the following:

To express x as a fraction of y, you do the following:
1) Make x the numerator
2) Make y the denominator
3) Cancel down

To turn a fraction into a decimal you ( multiply, divide ) the numerator by the ( denominator, top number )

To turn a fraction into a percentage you must:
1) Turn the fraction into a decimal number
2) Turn the decimal number into a percentage

To turn a percentage into a decimal number you multiply the percentage by 100

To turn a decimal into a fraction you do the following:
1) The digits after the decimal point become the ❌
2) The denominator is a power of ❌ (e.g. 10, 100, 100,...)
The power of 10 has the same amount of ❌ as there were digits after the decimal point

To turn recurring decimals into fractions, we do the following:
1) Make the recurring decimal equal to r
2) Multiply by a power of 10 (e.g. 1, 10, 100, 1000, etc...) to get any non-recurring digits before the decimal points
3) Multiply the answer in step 2 by a power of 10 (e.g. 10, 100, 1000, etc...) to get any recurring parts before the decimal point.
4) Take away the answer in step 2, from the answer in step 3.
5) Divide both sides by the integer in front of r to get it on its own
6) Cancel the fraction down

To turn a fraction into a recurring decimal you:
1) Make every non-zero number on the numerator a 9.
Remembering to multiply the bottom by whatever you multiplied the top by.
2) The denominator becomes the recurring decimal

You round a number up, if the number after it is:

To estimate a calculation, you round all the numbers in the calculation to 2 significant figures

To find the bounds of a number you find the half unit above and below the given number

To add numbers in standard form, you add the decimal numbers and then add the powers of 10

To multiply together numbers in standard form, you multiply the decimals and then add the powers

To divide numbers in standard form, you divide the decimal numbers and then add the powers
