We think so, but our Client is a huge corporation, and it's hard to tell them the tool they have created for us is worse than our own.

It would be easier for us, but not for the Client. For them it's better that we have access to all those and only those resources they want us to modify.

It's a matter of TMs. Translation Memory and iMT are applied on the Client's side, and they don't want us to keep our own.

What is a Vendor Context Query (VCQ)? How do you use it?

It's a field in LEAF where Developers add comments and instructions for us before they send us the strings. We should always check it while we progress.

It's a field in LEAF where we can ask questions about the strings that lack necessary context. We should set a string to TRAP 4 when we log a question.

It's a separate file in which we copy the strings we need more context for and send to the PM. PM should get back to us with answers from the Client, and meanwhile strings can be kept at TRAP 4.

Strings are color-coded in LEAF for easier recognition of their origin. While there are some rare exceptions (usually due to errors in LEAF), generally the meaning of particular colors is as follows:

New strings are pink, Updated strings are yellow, and AT or MT strings are dark green. Strings turn to lighter green when set to Localized.
