Falsifiability: statements, hypothesis and theories are falsifiable if there is an inherent chance they can be proven false. Unfalsifiability: a statement, hypothesis o theory that cannot be proven false although it could possibly be not true.
The definition of Scientific Theory: A set of tentative statements intended to explain an observed phenomenon or the relationships between different variables.
Independent Variable - the variable manipulated by the researcher. Dependant Variable- the variable measured by the researcher.
Alpha level - is the probability of making a wrong decision "the probability of rejecting the null hypothesis when the null hypothesis is true" Null/P value - the probability that the results from the experiment or study are due to chance and not the experimental conditons
Null hypothesis - a prediction or claim about a population A hypothesis test like p value is used to see how valid the claim is.
Critical value - used in significance testing, is a value that test statistic must exceed in order for the null hypothesis to be rejected. Probability value/calculated probability - a hypothesis test used to determine the significance of the results from a study. The probability the results are due to chance and not the experimental conditions.
