Which hormones are synthesised and secreted on demand and which hormones are stored before secretion? | There are 2 kinds, hydrophobic and hydrophilic. Hydrophilic ones are easily stored (i.e adrenaline) and the hydrophobic needs to be secreted on demand (i.e hormones). |
What stimuli stimulate the release of hormones? | 3 possible stimuli. In response to other hormones, body auto-adjust to the baseline, emotion or physical stress. Hormonal, Humoral, Neuronal. |
What mechanism regulate hormone secretion? | There are 3 mechanisms, Simple feedback loop, Hierarchical control and the negative feedback control. |
How is the specific actions of hormones achieved? | Hormones are specific to the receptors, with selective hormones targeting at selective receptors. Specific actions can be achieved. |
