Explain why Georges Clemenceau would not have approved of the Treaty of Versailles. (6) (2 Explained Points) - Didn't think Germany were treated harshly enough- wanted them down on their knees to prevent another attack- lost power in 1920- France didn't think he tried hard enough. - Didn't approve of League of Nations- it deemed all countries were to be independent- damaged France's external Empire- France would lose money.
Explain why Woodrow Wilson would not have approved of the Treaty of Versailles. (6) (2 Explained Points) - Thought Germany were being treated too harshly- would either lead to them turning to Communism or cause an outbreak of another war- wanted their economy to still be strong yet still weakened- £6.6 Billion was too much. - Didn't gain any control over his own creation- League of Nations- American Congress rejected his idea- Britain and France took control of League- went against the point of the League- turned over German colonies to themselves- League of Nations was to guarantee independence of countries not to transfer colonies.

(6) (2 Explained Points) - Didn't approve of League of Nations- stated all countries were to be independent- would mean giving up external British empire- Britain would lose money. -Thought Germany were being treated too harshly- £6.6 Billion was far too much for Germany to hold even an economy to sustain themselves- would create an outbreak of another war.
What did Georges Clemenceau achieve from the Treaty of Versailles? (6) (2 Explained Points) -Achieved reparations money- not only did it pay for the damage caused by Germany and the money spent on armed forces- weakened Germany considerably preventing another attack. -Achieved land- colonies in Africa from new power of League of Nations- Alsace- Lorraine was given back to France where lots of German industrial buildings were which weakened Germany's economy further as an added bonus.
